VOLUNTEERS IN MEDICINE HOLDS ANNUAL GALA: Grosses Over $660,000 to Support its Mission to Serve Those in Need
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC. – On Saturday, November 22, 2025, Volunteers in Medicine Clinic of Hilton Head Island (VIM) held its annual Circle of Caring gala at the Westin Resort and Spa. The event grossed over $660,000 to support VIM’s mission to serve the medical needs of those working and living on Hilton Head and Daufuskie Islands who do not have insurance or otherwise cannot afford coverage.
“With over 420 community supporters and medical volunteers in attendance, including Jack McConnell’s wife Mary Ellen and their son Page, sponsors and board members, it was plain to see the outpouring of support for what we do”, said Dr. John Newman, VIM’s executive director. “The turnout and generosity are true reflections of the legacy of VIM’s founder Jack McConnell and those who continue to believe in his mission.”
As federal healthcare programs face cutbacks, VIM’s dedicated team of volunteer physicians, nurses, and medical professionals is committed to providing compassionate care to all those who walk through its doors – most having nowhere else to turn.
