The patient demand for VIM HHI’s state-of-the-art Dental Clinic is extreme. Last year the clinic provided 3,654 dental procedures for children and adults. Annually the Dental Clinic is able to provide an average of $1.2 million in dental care. Treatments include everything from cleanings, emergency exams, extractions and root canals to fluoride, prosthodontics/dentures, crowns as well as partials and restoration/fillings.
Dental disease is one of the most prevalent health problems for the neighbors that we serve. The link between oral health and socio-economic status is well-established as is poor access to proper dental care.
For many of our patients, dental treatment at our clinic is their first dental visit ever. Patients often arrive at the clinic with serious oral infections and debilitating pain. Nearly 25% of dental care provided here is done on an emergency basis.
