Empowering Healthy Living

Prevention, education and support.

Redefining wellness.

At Volunteers in Medicine Clinic Hilton Head Island (VIM), we’ve shifted from solely treating illness to championing prevention and wellness. Our Wellness Program and innovative “Food as Medicine” initiative boost both lifespan and quality of life. Every patient receives personalized counseling on nutrition, physical activity and healthy habits.  Plus, our food market supports those in need. Surrounded by orchards (walnuts, pecans, citrus, avocados, etc.) and a hydroponic “Farm-acy” producing 30,000+ leafy greens yearly, we deliver nature’s medicine. At VIM, we believe good food is good medicine—and through education, access, and innovation, we’re helping our community thrive from the inside out.

Fresh, Nutritious Food for a Healthier Community

Our on-site food market ensures that every patient has access to healthy, nourishing food when they need it most. Stocked with fresh produce from our orchards and hydroponic “Farm-acy,” it helps neighbors facing food insecurity make better choices for their health. By combining fresh foods with nutritional education, we’re turning good food into true medicine for our community.

Nourishing Your Health and Community

Our Wellness Market is more than just a place to find fresh, nutritious food—it’s a hub for nutritional education and a cornerstone of our community’s wellness journey. We believe that good health begins with what you eat, and we are dedicated to providing the tools and knowledge you need to make informed decisions about your diet and lifestyle.

Comprehensive Nutritional Education

At the Wellness Market, we offer a broad spectrum of nutritional education services. Our team provides insights into the health benefits of various foods, teaches practical cooking skills, and guides you on how to incorporate wholesome eating into your daily routine. We aim to empower you with the knowledge to make choices that support a healthy lifestyle.

Promoting Wellness as a Lifestyle

Our educational initiatives go beyond just food. We focus on promoting overall wellness, helping you understand how nutrition, exercise, and mindfulness work together to create a balanced and healthy life. Through one-on-one consultations, we support our patients’ journey toward long-term wellness.

Community Partnerships

We are proud to partner with local organizations that share our commitment to health and well-being. Our collaborators include Deep Well, Second Helpings, First Presbyterian Church, Church Mouse, Notre Dame Club, Sprout Mamas, WAHHI, Hilton Head Plantation Women’s Club, and Sea Pines Heritage Farm. Together, we work to ensure that nutritious food is accessible to everyone in our community.

Sustainable Sourcing

Our Wellness Market is supported by donations from the local community, including produce from our own clinic’s hydroponic and traditional farms. These partnerships enable us to offer fresh, locally sourced food while also promoting sustainable agriculture practices.

Empowering a Healthier Community

Through the combined efforts of our educational programs and community partnerships, the Wellness Market is dedicated to making a positive impact on the health and well-being of our community. Whether you’re looking to learn more about nutrition, improve your cooking skills, or simply find fresh, healthy food, the Wellness Market is here to support you.
