The Volunteers In Medicine Hilton Head Medical Clinic (VIM) provides over 21,000 patient visits each year—delivered by a dedicated team of retired physicians, nurses, physical therapists, dentists, interpreters, and community volunteers.
Most of our patients work but still can’t afford health insurance. In fact, 70 percent are employed or live in working households.
As the nation’s first free clinic built on a volunteer medical model, we’ve inspired the creation of over 100 VIM clinics nationwide—proving that compassionate, community-driven care works.
Primary Care
VIM provides comprehensive primary care services tailored to the unique needs of each patient, including routine checkups, chronic disease management, and preventive screenings. Our compassionate team of volunteer providers delivers personalized, no-cost care to help patients stay healthy, active, and supported.
Pediatrics
Our pediatric services support the health and development of children in our community with care that’s compassionate, comprehensive, and free. From well-child visits and immunizations to treatment for common illnesses, our dedicated team is here to help every child grow strong and thrive.

Our comprehensive healthcare team provides access to preventive care, disease management and individualized patient care.
