Volunteers in Medicine HHI was one of 77 nonprofit organizations to receive Fall Caritas Grant funding from Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina. The Fall Caritas Grant isissued to South Carolina nonprofits who meet the immediate needs of the underserved throughout South Carolina.

“Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina is inspired by the recipients of the 2019 Fall Caritas Grant. These nonprofits use grant funding to address immediate needs and enhance people’s lives across our great state,” said Tom Keith, president of Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina. “By being knowledgeable about their communities, our grantee partners are able to provide valuable services. They’re also examples of good to the rest of us.”

Volunteers in Medicine Clinic provides a “safety net” for our community continues and is more important today than ever before. New patients are added on a daily basis and current patients receive treatment as we fulfill our mission: to understand and serve the health and wellness needs of the medically underserved population and their households, living and/or working on Hilton Head and Daufuskie Islands.

“This is our fourth year receiving a grant from Sisters of Charity Foundation, and we look forward to using these funds to make a difference in our patients’ lives,” said Dr. Raymond Cox, Executive Director of VIM HHI.
